Use the right name to sign in

Your Display name is how you appear inside Atlas. It may contain spaces and is not necessarily your sign-in username. Only use it to sign in if it matches the username you configured.

In Settings → My Atlas access, you will see separate fields for Sign-in username and Sign-in email. “Not configured yet” means the account has no username yet: use its usual email address.

My Atlas accessIllustrative example
Display nameMarta López
Sign-in usernamemarta.lopez
Sign-in emailmarta@example.com

Marta can sign in with marta.lopez or her email. “Marta López” is her display name.

Existing accounts keep email sign-in.

Setting a username adds another way to sign in; it does not remove your email. Accounts registered with a username only do not need to invent an email address to sign in.

02 / 06

Set or change your username

  1. Open Settings → My Atlas access.
  2. Choose Set username, or Change username if you already have one.
  3. Choose an available name with 3–32 characters. Use letters a to z, numbers, dots, hyphens or underscores; start with a letter or number and avoid spaces or accents.
  4. Confirm with your password and your authenticator code if enabled. Save the change.

Atlas stores the username in lowercase. Your display name, email, permissions and authenticator stay unchanged. Use the new username or your existing email to sign in afterwards.

If the name is taken, choose another. If you have a recovery link issued before changing your username, request a new one: the previous link no longer works.

03 / 06

Recover a forgotten password

Contact the Atlas team through your usual channel and give them your sign-in username or email. Do not send your password or authentication codes. The authorized team can give you a Private recovery link; it is not sent automatically.

  1. Open the link shared privately with you and check that it belongs to the Atlas domain you normally use.
  2. On Choose your password, enter a new password with at least 12 characters. Show password helps you check what you typed.
  3. Choose Complete setup to save your new password.
  4. Sign in with your username or email and the new password. If 2FA is enabled, enter your authenticator code or a valid recovery code at this sign-in. Your other sessions will have been closed.
Valid for 15 minutes and usable only once.

Do not publish or forward the link. Request another if it expires or was already used. Creating a new recovery link invalidates earlier ones.

Recovery preserves your authenticator and permissions. It does not approve an account under review or reactivate a disabled account. If you still know your password, change it under Manage security → Change password using your current password.

04 / 06

Keep your second verification

Your authenticator or 2FA adds a temporary code to your password. Resetting the password does not turn it off. Keep access to your authenticator app and store its recovery codes privately.

  • Use the current code for the correct Atlas account in your app.
  • If a temporary code fails, check your phone's automatic time setting and try the next code.
  • If you lose your authenticator, a valid recovery code can replace it. Each code works once.
  • If you have also lost the recovery codes, contact support. A password-reset link does not replace that verification.

New accounts require an authenticator. Do not share an account between people: each team member needs their own approved access.

05 / 06

Understand what happens to your sessions

In Settings → Your account security → Manage security, you can check whether your authenticator is enabled and see the number of Active sessions. This view shows a count, not a device inventory.

  • Log out ends access in the current browser.
  • Change password from your account closes your other sessions and keeps the one used to make the change.
  • Complete password recovery closes open sessions. Sign in again with your new password.
  • To close every sign-in, ask the authorized team to close your account sessions. This does not change your password or authenticator.

When global administration access is granted or removed, you must sign in again. Disabling an account blocks access; password recovery does not remove that block.

If you still cannot sign in

What happensWhat to do
Email works but your name does notSign in with email. Check Sign-in username: you may have used the display name or not set a username yet.
Incorrect credentialsCheck username or email and password. Check capitalization and accidental spaces. Review the details before repeating attempts.
Link expired or unavailableRequest a new link and use only the latest one.
Account under reviewWait for the Atlas team's approval. Changing your password does not replace or speed up approval.
Unexpected sign-outSign in again. If you do not recognize the change, contact support to review your access.

When asking for help, share your username or email, approximate time and the message shown. Do not share passwords, 2FA codes, recovery codes or private links in a screenshot.
